Long time ~ No blogging!

So I have been busy! Work has kept me running all over the state, and Christmas knitting was finished in time for Christmas! Woo Hoo!!! Highlights were hat to match Harry Potter scarf for my son, slippers for oldest granddaughter, scarves and hats for 2 younger granddaughters, and hats for 2 youingest grandsons. Pretty good If I do say so myself!! I did finish a scarf I had started several years ago and knitted a hat for me!! Yes! for me!!! I always give my knitting away so I decided to make me something!!

So now I am trying to finish a sock, a scarf for Gali, and a scarf out of that ruffly yarn that Red Heart makes. So cool!!

Knitting goal for 2013: I would like to knit Christmas stockings for my 5 youngest grandchildren this year. That's the plan (but you knoe what they say about plans!!) I am going to try and with the help of some friends, I may get it done! Hopefully I will, and then maybe the 2 older boys next year...we shall see!!

Life is busy, busy!! Traveling this past week for work, every day booked for the rest of the month...seriously!!

And What a week!!

So life keeps going!!

A little bit of knitting accomplished and I did finish the baby hat before the shower ~ which I did not get to attend...

My daughter had an abcess on her face that got infected and developed a staph infection on her cheek. So...we spent the weekend in the hospital with her having IV antibiotics and her "wound" cultured numerous times...not to mention that blood draws from those vampires that live in hospital labs at night!! Thankfully, she is much better and continues to take antibiotics at home. And her cheek looks really good ~ she will have a scar though.
(one day I will blog about my family ~ gotta love them!!)

Anyway, I did get some knitting done while she slept. I really do need to get back on track with Christmas galloping toward us!!

Hopefully, this concludes life drama for a while! Let's settle down and go with the flow for a while!!

Knit on, people!!!

Back to Work!!

Because I became a lazy slug during my week off, not much knitting was done ~ I read a lot!! But that is OK. Back to knitting this week.

A cupcake hat is on my agenda this weekend because the baby shower is coming up next weekend. So I must finish the hat before then. The lady receiving this hat is a dear girl - one of my other daughters... she says she is  my favorite!!
And some days she is!!!

I have 2 hats to make for grandsons ~ got some great yarn in New Orleans in March, and am using it for the boys' hats. Granddaughters' hats are done, but slippers are also on the list. And there is always a "Harry Potter" scarf for my son that I need to work on!! So I need to concentrate on the knitting for a while. Pictures will be posted here when done.

Have an awesome weekend!! Looks like fall has come to Georgia!!

Knitting Week

I am taking a week off from work. I was supposed to go to the beach, but that fell through, so I will enjoy a staycation, and spend the week doing a lot of knitting,  reading, napping, etc. I have some chores that I need to get out of the way first, though.

Now, you have to know that my co-workers are all in shock at the fact that I am taking a whole week off. I rarely take a day off, much less a whole week at a time. And that is only if I am sick or have a family thing going on. (Asthmatic Bronchitis of February 2012 took 1 week of my newly acquired 3)

I rarely am not running up and down the highways visiting Assisted Living and Nursing homes. I love my job, but we all need a break sometime. I am exhausted!! Of course, getting up at 6 am on the first day of my vacation was not a great start!! But my business phone is OFF!! That is a definite miracle!!!

So I hope to get a lot of knitting done and see grandchildren. Also there is a little boy I need to go have coffee with...hope to do that this week too!!

More babies coming!

Just found out that 2 more people are expecting!! Jeez,zz! Gotta quit this people!!

Working on my  and still trying to conquer bobbles (satan inspired stitch) If I can get them done, I may just finish that hat, It is a cute hat and I really want to finish it. But seriously, bobbles?? C'mon people!!

Also trying to finish a couple of socks and continue with the Christmas knitting.

I bought some yarn in New Orleans that I want to make Judah and FAR (grandsons) hats out of. Bought it in the Quarter, and it is called Mardi Gras - black with all color flecks in it.

By the Way - lets all pray for all of those people in NOLA!!

Babies! Babies! Babies!!

A Cupcake hat - I seem to be making a lot of these lately. Easy pattern and it's a cute hat. Pink for the little girl babies and blue for a little one coming in a couple of months. This is an easy hat to knit and it doesn't really take long to make. I use wooden circular needles and change to double points at the top. And of course I had to put a cherry on top!! (red pompom!!)

I have another baby hat pattern that I got at Stitches for a little cotton hat that is quick and easy too. No pictures because I give them away as fast as I knit them!!

Hopefully I will be able to concentrate on the bobbly hat that I am trying to knit...gotta get on that!!

And so it begins again!

I had a blog for a while, but lost interest in it about 2 1/2 years ago. (Reasons will come up later, I’m sure). I work full time, which interferes greatly with my knitting. However, no work = no yarn = unhappy me! So I make do!
I am grandmother to 7 of the most amazing human beings in this world!! They have given (and continue to give) me so much joy!! They range in age from almost 18 to 7 months. I am sure they will come up in this blog occasionally! ( :) )
I work for a long term care pharmacy as a Q A Consultant. I have no office but stay in the field – a different home every day. If I had to go back into working in an office all day, I would absolutely go nuts. I like meeting different people and developing relationships in my homes.
I also have an amazing group of knitting friends who are very dear to me. They challenge me to learn new knitting skills – like my friend, Donna, who is forcing me to learn to knit bobbles.  Seriously? Bobbles were created by the devil to drive knitters insane…just sayin’…
And I have an amazing Church family too!! The Bridge is a new ministry, and, while we are small, we continue to grow weekly. God has blessed us with an amazing pastor and dedicated people. I absolutely adore my church! And my church family!!!
Enough for the first day…
